How does the BIO calculation work in Quasydoc?
Quasydoc can calculate whether a product is sufficient to carry the claim BIO. The result is a label with the necessary references to organic farming. For this, some settings need to be made.
1. Company level
Go to Local administration > Company data > Parameters > Specifications.
Indicate the checkbox Indicate organic raw materials with a symbol on the label.
Enter the desired symbol: *, °, ... .
Enter the label legend: Ingredient of organic origin, from organic farming, etc.
You do not need to put the symbol in front of this.
Click on save.
This setting has to be done once.
2. Input fields
Go to Specifications > Specification management > Input fields.
Open the list of input fields of the Basic raw material type.
Tick Agricultural if the ingredient should be calculated as organic.
Then click on save.
This setting should be reviewed every time a new ingredient is added to the basic raw materials list.
Note: There is no need to add asterisks or anything to this ingredient, this happens automatically if the product meets the BIO requirements.
3. Create and link BIO claim
To create and add BIO claims to products, see the following link: How do I add product claims and certificates?
BIO claims should be added for raw materials and end products. This can be done at both the supplier level and the product level.
4. Calculation of the BIO claim
If the ingredients are indicated as agricultural and a BIO claim is linked to them, Quasydoc will calculate the BIO%. Please note that the % must be entered in the specification.
This calculation can be found under Product > Specifications > Calculated values.
Raw materials that have a BIO claim are indicated with the BIO logo under structure calculation.
If the product does not meet the BIO requirements, Quasydoc will display a message.
When does Quasydoc display a notification?
Quasydoc will NOT show a notification if the BIO% >95% and a valid BIO claim is present.
Quasydoc shows a notification if the BIO% <95% and a valid BIO claim is present.
Quasydoc displays a notification in the BIO% >95% and NO valid BIO claim is present.
If the BIO% >95% the organic ingredients will be labeled with the set symbol and the corresponding legend (see point 1). If an ingredient appears twice and 1 is organic, they will not be combined. They will be listed separately in the ingredient declaration.
If the BIO% <95%, the symbols and legend will not be shown on the label.
